Data from the Government of Canada finds that a majority of Canadians would be comfortable being paid in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC ) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH ).

Among surveyed Canadians, 62% said they would be interested in getting paid in cryptocurrencies in the future.

The finding comes as a growing number of Canadians say they are comfortable with cryptocurrencies and feel that digital assets such as Bitcoin are safe and secure.

The same poll of Canadians' attitudes towards crypto found that a minority (31%) of Canadians say they have concerns about the security and privacy of crypto.

The shifting attitude towards cryptocurrencies shows that digital assets are becoming more mainstream and accepted within Canada.

However, the latest government survey shows that there continues to be a sharp divided among older and younger Canadians when it comes to cryptocurrencies.

Millennials, or people aged 30 to 45, are the largest group of cryptocurrency owners within Canada currently.

At the same time, a majority (60%) of Canadians aged 56 or older say they haven't used cryptocurrencies and have no interest in investing in the asset class.

There is also a divide along sexes, with men in Canada 2.6 times more likely to own crypto than women.

Among cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin remains the most popular in Canada, with 34% of all crypto owners holding BTC in a digital wallet.

Vancouver, British Columbia remains the crypto capital of Canada and is home to the most crypto businesses and exchanges, although Toronto has the most crypto ATM machines.
