Online brokerage Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: $IBKR ) has launched cryptocurrency trading for individual retail investors in Europe.

The move enables eligible investors in the European Union to trade 11 different cryptocurrencies alongside stocks and bonds on the Interactive Brokers platform.

The assets available for trading include Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC ), Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH ), and XRP (CRYPTO: $XRP ).

Smaller cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin (CRYPTO: $LTC ) and Bitcoin Cash (CRYPTO: $BCH ), along with meme coins such as Dogecoin ($DOGE ), are also available for trading.

Interactive Brokers said eligible users will be able to trade the crypto assets via its platform that includes Trader Workstation, IBKR Desktop, Client Portal, IBKR Mobile, and IBKR GlobalTrader.

The brokerage already offers crypto trading in the U.S. and in the United Kingdom.

The company said it is now opening up cryptocurrency trading to Europe in an effort to help customers "manage risk, liquidity, and capital more efficiently."

IBKR stock has risen 56% in the last 12 months to trade at $64.74 U.S. per share. Bitcoin is currently trading at $67,000 U.S.
